The children in this area are provided with a little more structure and the day is planned to give a balance of active and more passive activities.

Activities include imaginative play such as dressing up, pretend house play, farm sets and a railway.
We have a musical activity twice a day and this will include singing, action rhymes, instruments, parachute and actions to taped music.

Messy activities include wet and dry pasta, cornflour, sand, water and painting and are used to encourage imagination and creativity as well as being very enjoyable and therapeutic.

Story time is a favourite time for many children and we read to the children as well as use taped stories. The children's own ideas and thoughts are listened to and story time is an excellent language and social time.
